eBay Unveils Platform Extensions For Developers

SAN JOSE, CA -- Auction site eBay, Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY) announced the unveiling of a number of new services and platform enhancements designed to help developers extend eBay's platform for their customer's uses.

eBay's platform extensions include a suite of faster API's that makes searching on eBay up to 16 times faster and allows developers to more easily create  buying applications on their client web sites.

Other enhancements include an improved bidding API, near real-time client alerts, new JavaScript and Flash resource centers and a new production call plan that increases the number of API calls from 10,000 per month to 150,000.
